Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels Tour – Phnom Penh

Saigon – Cu Chi Tunnels Tour – Phnom Penh

After breakfast, you will go and see the Cu Chi Tunnels, an important site from the Vietnam War. These tunnels, stretching for 200 kilometres, were dug by hand and used by Vietnamese guerrilla forces during the war. Before the Tet Offensive in 1968, almost 10,000 soldiers were based in this tunnel complex. Today, it stands as a powerful reminder of the intensity of the war. You can even try crawling through some parts of the tunnels to get a real feel for what it was like. In the afternoon, you will head to the airport for a flight to Phnom Penh. When you arrive in Phnom Penh, our representative will be there to pick you up and take you to the hotel. The rest of the day is free for you to relax. Nearby is the Silver Pagoda, also known as the Emerald Buddha temple, filled with Buddha statues adorned with gold, diamonds, gemstones, and silver. You will make a stop at the Independence Monument and explore the National Museum, a beautiful building with Khmer architecture. It houses over 5000 art antiques made from materials like bronze, wood, gold, silver, copper, and sandstone. As you stroll through the river-front park where four rivers meet, including the mystical Mekong, you will walk up to the sacred hill Phnom Daun Penh. In the afternoon, you will visit Tuol Sleng prison, now known as the Genocide Museum, a hidden part of the Khmer Rouge regime.
